The RadHAND 600 PRO is the world’s first portable instrument designed to perform spectroscopic radiation measurements and UHF RFID tagging of nuclear waste materials and objects.
RadHAND is an innovative portable instrument capable of combining, for the first time, state-of-the-art spectroscopic radiation measurements with scintillation detectors and UHF RFID technology to facilitate the tracking of measured items. The RadHAND 600 PRO helps the operator to fully characterize and track objects, surfaces, radioactive waste and any type of item that can be produced and measured in Decommissioning and Dismantling activities or in a Nuclear Power Plant environment.
Integrated into the CAENSYS DigiWaste platform, the device inputs measured data and sample information into a central database and simultaneously writes key information into the memory of selected radiation-tolerant RFID tags, which are part of the CAENSYS RadRFID family. Operators can access the central management database either locally with CAENSYS RadREAD devices or remotely via a dedicated web service at any time.
A range of additional external probes that can be controlled by the RadHAND 600 PRO via USB will also be available.
